How we find and compare hardware

1. Collect retailer listings

We read publicly accessible retailer search listings for selected hardware categories. Every published listing includes the source retailer and the time its price was observed. Refreshes currently run separately from the website; this is a snapshot, not live inventory.

2. Keep the comparison clear

A listed discount is calculated as (merchant comparison price − listed price) ÷ merchant comparison price. The comparison price may be a list price or another reference chosen by the merchant. It is not proof of a prior selling price, a weekly drop, or the lowest market price.

3. Put relevant hardware first

We filter by hardware category and remove obvious accessories and incomplete items. The default order is the largest percentage discount against a supplied reference price, followed by lower prices. You can change the order or filter by retailer and budget. We do not rank by commission.

4. Buy with the retailer

Purchase links open the retailer’s website. Verify the exact product variant, seller, condition, shipping, stock, returns, and total price there. We do not process orders or payments.

Freshness

Prices can change between collection and checkout. At each site build, observations older than 72 hours are removed from the current collection. Previously published detail pages remain available with their original timestamp.
